Frequently Asked Questions




You can attend any course as per your requirement and taste. If you want to play keyboard professionally, you may attend a basic course on carnatic notation / or western notation and then learn songs/ tunes. Else if you are interested in guitar/ ukulele / recorder, you may choose the corresponding course. In case you are interested in getting certified, you can attend our carnatic course and appear for exams/ or attend western theory & practical courses, and appear for Trinity Grade exams/ or ABRMS/ or RCM etc.

What types of music lessons are available online at BMIIWM ?


BMIIWM offers a wide range of music lessons online including carnatic & western music on electronic keyboard, piano, guitar, carnatic vocal, ukulele, recorder, midi editing, music theory, grade exam training, Indian film music and many more..



What age groups can enroll for online misic classes at BMIIWM ?


We enroll students from the age of 6. There is no upper age limit. Lessons are available from beginner level to advanced levels.



In the online music curriculam at BMIIWM designed to meet International standards ?


Yes, the online music curriculum at BMIIWM is designed to meet international standards and offers students a world-class, internationally accredited music curriculum.



How many classes per week should I attend ?


You can attend 1 class per week/ or 2 classes. Minimum is 1 class per week. If you want to learn faster, we suggest 2 classes per week. For children, we would suggest 2 classes per week. Also, if you are preparing for music grade exams, 2 classes per week is advisable.



What is the normal period of learning music ?

In around 2-3 years you can learn music to a reasonably good level. If you want to go to advanced levels, it will take 5 - 6 years or even more. The learning period depends on how much time you spend everyday for practice and not on how many years you learn.



If I miss a class, will it be compensated ?

One-on-one classes missed with prior information (before 24 hours) will be compensated. Classes can also be rescheduled with prior information. Group classes can not be compensated, but we will send you the lessons and follow up in the next class.



Can I take a long break of around 1-2 months in the middle of a course, if required ?

Yes, if required you can take a long break with prior intimation. There is no holiday fee for such breaks.



Should I have any prior knowledge to attend the classes ?

No prior knowledge is required. Our classes are designed for students from beginner to advanced levels.



If I have prior knowledge in music, can I continue for my current level ?

Yes, we will assess your level in music in the first session, and begin the lessons from your current level. If required, we will give a bridging course and then continue with further lessons.



Should we purchase books for the courses ?

No. we will provide all the lessons in PDF form, and you can save & print. For Grade exams you can purchase the relevant books.



When should we remit fees for every cycle ?

Fees is payable in advance for every 4 classes/ or 8 classes according your convenience. Once we complete a cycle of classes (for the fees already remitted by you), we will send you the summary of classes. Then you can remit fees for the next cycle.




Is fees charged on monthly basis or class basis ?

Fee is charged on class basis only. But we receive fees in advance for every 4 classes/ or 8 classes. Students who attend 1 class per week will have to remit advance fees for 4 classes, and those who 2 classes per week will have to pay advance fees for 8 classes.
