MIDI Editing Course: Acoustica Mixcraft

This course is designed for music students and aspiring musicians, who want to master MIDI editing using Acoustica Mixcraft, a powerful digital audio workstation (DAW). It works on Windows operating system. Students will learn how to effectively create, edit, and arrange MIDI tracks, while also exploring the fundamentals of sound design and mixing.

Course Objectives

- Understand the basics of MIDI and its significance in music production.
- Familiarize yourself with Acoustica Mixcraft’s interface and tools.
- Develop skills in MIDI editing, including note manipulation and quantization.
- Learn to use virtual instruments and effects within Mixcraft.
- Explore sound design principles to enhance music compositions.

1. Introduction to MIDI/

- What is MIDI? (Musical Instrument Digital Interface)
- The difference between MIDI and audio.
- Common uses of MIDI in music production.

2. Getting Started with Acoustica Mixcraft

- Installing and setting up Mixcraft.
- Navigating the Mixcraft interface.
- Importing and exporting MIDI files.

At BMIIWM, for students who own a Windows Laptop, Acoustica Mixcraft is included as a part of all courses. For others who use Macbook, Garageband will be introduced.
